Periodontal Cleaning Services
We recommend standard cleaning services at least twice a year. If you haven’t had your regular cleanings for more than a year, you may need a periodontal cleaning. Periodontal cleaning is an in-depth cleaning, which may involve periodontal scaling (deep cleaning), adult prophy (basic cleaning) and root planning and scaling.
Dr. Chua and staff provide recommendations regarding which treatments are best for you needs so you can avoid reconstructive dentistry services as you get older. The regular cleaning of tartar and plaque is imperative in keeping healthy teeth. After you have scheduled your routine dental appointment, we will clean the gum line by getting rid of any accumulated tartar. Our staff takes the time to ensure our patients are thoroughly educated on proper techniques for brushing and flossing so you can take great care of your teeth at home. There may be some instances that require periodontal therapy.
Preventative
Preventive services refer to taking proper care of your teeth by practicing oral hygiene, so you can avoid bad breath and dental problems. We encourage you to keep your mouth and teeth clean. We can offer advice on how you can take better care of your mouth with helpful tips on flossing, teeth cleaning, oral irrigation, interdental brushing, gum care, beverages and food.
Laser Gum Treatment
If your teeth have been deemed untreatable because of periodontal disease, Dr. Chua can use our advanced laser treatment method in an attempt to save your teeth. Using a laser light, we will gently clean any bacteria and diseased tissue from your gum pocket. The improved gum pockets will stabilize your teeth more enabling the area to heal much more naturally.
Dental Fillings
If you have a tooth that is fractured, decayed or cracked, we can use composite filling to fix it. We will make sure it will match your original teeth and give it a natural appearance.
TmJ Appliance
Temporomandibular Joint and Muscle Disorders (TMJD) is a complex condition that is often misunderstood. It is a complex condition that not only hinders movement but also causes pain in the muscles and joint of the jaw. The disorder may affect only one TM joint or it may affect both joints. It can negatively impact your swallowing, chewing, eating, breathing and speaking.
Athletic Guards & Night Guards
It is imperative that every sports enthusiast and athlete wear a mouth guard. If you grind your teeth, you are at higher risk for TMJD so a night guard is recommended. Silver Smile Dental offers customized mouth guards directed toward your individual needs.
